W9JAB 156 #1 Posted December 28, 2009  I would like to know if any has the proper way to route the drive chain on a St325/st325 blower? The blower I have came with the chain routed under the main {large} sprocket of the auger. But I have seen photos of the chain routed over the large sprocket and over the idler {adjusting} sprocket. The manuals I have do not show any details on this, any Help? :notworthy:

nylyon-(Admin) 7,880 #4 Posted December 28, 2009 If you're talking about the chain routing, that is correct for that model blower. I don't know if yours is the same or not. If the chain is routed wrong it will likely rub on the housing by the drive sprocket.
catman81056 3 #5 Posted December 28, 2009 Running the chain over or under the main sprocket changes the direction of the auger rotation. I bought a blower for a vertical shaft tractor, got it mounted up and the auger was turning the wrong way(blowing snow out the front instead of up thru the chute) I added an idler and ran the chain under the main sprkt and all was well. If you have the chain on wrong you'll know it :notworthy:
W9JAB 156 #6 Posted December 28, 2009 The example I was looking at has two idlers, I only have one. It's just that going under the auger sprocket looks like it would have a tendency to slip, if the chain loosened up.
