bork 0 #5 Posted December 26, 2009 Does weight make that much difference? I dont have any, just chains & my big arss.
tgranthamfd 29 #6 Posted December 26, 2009 What did you do use your original tow hitch to support the bottom of your bracket? Maybe some angle run across you blade clip tops, what did you use to make your weight arm inbetween? I like your set up looks real nice. I have 40lbs per wheel and no chains, and I slid and spun everywhere today, dug all kind of ruts in my yard too. But it was fun!! Could you show us some close up's, maybe went you take your weights off? Thanks
420lse 18 #7 Posted December 26, 2009 Does weight make that much difference? I dont have any, just chains & my big arss. I weigh in at 200, so I need counter weigh for that huge 2 stage blower. I just had my driveway redone so I decided not to run with chains. The weight seems to do the trick.

Could you show us some close up's, maybe went you take your weights off? Thanks Before the weights, I had the same problem. Yes, I did incorprate the original hitch but I also used some old bed frame to tie everything in with the axle and the plow/tiller hitch. You can see I had to extend the original hitch.I used an old slot hitch. The long carrage bolt stabilizes the weights so they don't slide around and makes it easy to remove. The weights are from ****'s Sporting Goods and run 89 cents per pound. Hope this helps.

jusjeepn 59 #12 Posted December 27, 2009 Good looking weight set-up you have there. Check with Terry Dennis on decals for your 420. I know he has been working on them but not sure if he has them completed. This was my 420LSE, sold to another member here.

Cody 277 #15 Posted December 27, 2009 What did you modify on the hood??? I turned my sons C-85 in to a C-145 this summer. Looks like he might have cut the bottom of the hood to clear the snow blower when it is raised :notworthy:

Rideawaysenior 25 #19 Posted December 28, 2009 I spoke with Terry as I'm re-working a 420LSE also. He can not make chrome decals because he doesn't have the proper equipment. I'm working with a company in Springfield, MA that specializes in that type of work. My neighbor works for them and says he will need to take measurements and color samples to make an exact match. Did you have to re-do any of the chrome on yours? I need to have the rear wheels re-dipped and can't find a shop that can help me out with that. Jack

Jack I found a Company in Windsor CT that does a nice chrome job I'll need to look them up and let u know. I'm kinda suprised that no one that does this stuff has duplicated the process for the 420 decals, the chrome part must be difficult.
jusjeepn 59 #21 Posted December 28, 2009 Jack, I know of a small shop in Portland that will do just about anything. They are not cheap. I have yet to get a quote an any tractor parts though.
