sunbelthorse 0 #1 Posted December 21, 2009 I have a lead on a snowblower for my 953 but I wanted to know how I can be sure it will work......Any thoughts?
Sparky-(Admin) 23,138 #2 Posted December 22, 2009 Go here, https://lookup3.toro.com/partdex/index.cfm and enter 953 in the search box. Then click view assembly drawings and then click view attachments and accesories. Shows that you need the ST374 or ST375 blower which is the same ones used with the 1054 tractors. Do you have the PTO on the tractor? I think it was an option back then as you could buy that tractor without the PTO to save a couple bucks. Mike.......... sunbelthorse 0 #3 Posted December 22, 2009 When you say Pto you mean the multiple pulley on the engine shaft i do have that.
sunbelthorse 0 #4 Posted December 22, 2009 Those units are the 42 inch variety???
Sparky-(Admin) 23,138 #5 Posted December 22, 2009 Yep, I meant the pulleys on the side of the motor. You'll need those to power a blower. They say that they are 37"ers but you might be able to bolt on "wings" to add some width. My 1995 blower has the wings which gives a wider clearing path. Now I'm using a 16HP twin to spin it so no there are no power problems, but your using a 9HP single cylinder( I think) so it would probably be best to just leave your blower at 37" wide. Mike....
