C.M.C-175 0 #1 Posted December 21, 2009 I know that there is a outside diameter difference between a engine drive pulley on a hydro and 8-speed, but what is it? Is the outside diameter of the pulley on a 8-speed a lot smaller? Can you put a 8-speed pulley on a hydro tractor and still use the same drive belt? I feel like this is a Radio Shack commercial... I've got questions, "hopefully" you all have answers! :notworthy:
Don1977 605 #2 Posted December 21, 2009 I'm not real sure about the hydro but I think I remember some one saying it was 5 1/4" the 8 speed is 4". The four in. pulley would not turn the hydro fast enough for full power. 4 divided by 5.25 would only be 76% of the right RPM.
rickv1957 74 #3 Posted December 21, 2009 That would not work with a 8 speed pulley, belt would then be to long also,Rick
