Tiller - Will it fit my Raider 14 (European)

Can anyone tell me if a 36 inch roto tiller for a Toro Wheel Horse 260/270 will fit my Raider 14 (European).

Accessories are hard to come by over this side of the pond and I have the chance to buy one but don't want to get it if it won't fit.

I suppose I could always buy it and then get a 260 or a 270 at some point :notworthy:

Short answer:

No, it will NOT fit your tractor.

Long answer:

Many things are possible. The 260 series (including the 270) was a vertical shaft engine yard tractor. But it used the same general tiller - with unique mounting and drive connections- as the larger, horizontal shaft engined garden tractors like the models that followed after your Raider14 was phased out in the early 70's.

If you are adventurous, you can remove the 260 series mounting parts from the tiller and replace them with parts from a C/300/400 series tiller. Or you can make them. The R14 you have wasn't exactly designed to take the C/300/400 style tiller but it is pretty darn close. You will need to do some modifications to the tiller hardware and idler pulley (mounted into the mower hitch directly below your engine) to make it work.

If you go down this path I suggest you modify the tiller and not the tractor.
