rick 217 #1 Posted December 17, 2009 Does anyone know the the industry number for the original battery for a C-100? Mine came with one that is too tall, and too long. It sticks out of the side of the battery box riding on the clutch rod. I can measure the box and research a battery number, but just maybe someone knows, all I can find is a Wheel Horse part number. Thanks in advance, rick

Thanks in advance, rick Rick, If it is an early 70's C-100, look at a 5051R battery from Napa. Battery Height : 8 3/4" Battery Length : 9 3/8" Battery Posts Type : Top Post This about as close to the original as I could find for my 75 C-160. http://www.napaonline.com/Search/Detail.as...051R_0258504402
rick 217 #4 Posted December 17, 2009 Thanks all! I checked Exide, came up with 22NF as replacement, that battery dates to the proper time frame. 5051, 5051R, or a Group 45 battery will fit. All of them are priced as an automotive battery, not Lawn & Garden...but then, a Wheel Horse is not run of the mill lawn & garden either!
