Help with changing fluids, & a muffler question...

Recommended Posts

Hi all....I'm very excited.....I'm about to fire up my C-120....Restoration is near 100% complete! There is a little mounting tab welded onto the bottom of the stock C-120 muffler. I'm trying to re-mount the freshly painted muffler, and I cant't see where that tab is supposed to bolt. Is not supposed to be used? When the muffler is positioned where I think it goes, the tab just hangs out in space. Am i missing a bracket? And lastly....I'm trying to fill the Uni-drive with 85w-90, and it is about 10 degrees outside. It is flowing V-E-R-Y slowly! How much oil is the Uni-drive supposed to have in it? is it 2 quarts? Thanks.

TT

The tab on the muffler is only used on the newer rubber-mount engine models (C-141, C-145, etc.) and fastens to the engine mounting "cradle".

Gear oil is not very cooperative in cold temperatures and can be warmed in an old saucepan, metal can, etc. to make pouring easier.

Capacity in the transaxle is generally around 2 quarts, depending on how well it was drained.

As TT said, the muffler tab goes nowhere. I have a B-100. Very similar to yours. Here is a picture of my tab just hanging out in space.
