ST 1276

I'm watching a 1966 1276 on ebay. Any bad info on this model? It's 230 miles from me so I'm not going to bid large on it. No deck, just the tractor. The seller says he had it running but had to prime it. He said the PO used it to blow snow up to the time he got a new tractor. Its supposed to work fine.

Any pointers?

I see it's almost over, Tim.

I looked at that one on there the other day and thought it was a bit rough. (could be fixed though  ) Good tractors, but the early Sundstrand hydros are a little tempermental.

Depending on what the reserve is, and what you actually want to do with it would be most important part of the decision...... The missing and broken parts can be found, and they make red paint everyday.

I'm guessing it's this one, right?

Yes I thought $100 would be my top bid.

That far away, and the price of gas..... I'd say that would be a good limit.

You can get at least that much for the engine!

I was glad to see you didn't get "bidder fever".

Sometimes they're best left behind -- as hard as it might be.

Ya, thinking about it, that mileage would have really jacked up the price. Probably a good thing I didn't win

230 miles never looks that bad when you're looking at it on the map, but when you're in the truck making that round trip you always start wondering if it was really worth it.

You'll find another one and probably closer to home too.
