pmarq2008 0 #1 Posted December 10, 2009 So I got to use my 211-5 with the snowblower last night. It went good until the master link in the chain came apart. Luckily I had a spare and threw it back on and off we went to finish the cleaning. One question. I would notice when i had the clutch pedal partially depress most of the time it was when i had to shift gears I was smelling somthing that smelled like burning grass. I thought maybe someone was burning something in there stove but once I got it back in the garage I could smell it and it seem it was coming from the back of the tractor. Could this be the brakes or the Belt. I wouldnt think it would be the belt because it didnt have that time of smell. I just dont want to burn something up. Thanks in advance. Rideawaysenior 25 #2 Posted December 10, 2009 Your burning your belt I would say. Careful with that too, if it breaks in the right spot, you can wrap it around your crank and damage your electro clutch or evern worse damage the engine.

Would that be the blower belt or the Drive belt. It seems like it would be the drive belt right? So what would i be doing wrong letting the clutch off to quick or to slow? Rideawaysenior 25 #4 Posted December 10, 2009 It sounded like you were riding the clutch for the tranny drive belt. If not, take a look on the underside and see if perhaps your belt jumped out of the track and maybe riding on the outside of one of the keepers. That could cause that too. In all, it sounds like your belt is receiving some unnecessary and unintended friction. The belt could be worn too and just be slipping. As far as the clutch goes, yes, ease into it when you let it out. The cast aluminum trannys used on that machine are good but dumping the clutch adds undue stress. Thanks for the Help. Is it hard to replace the Brake pads in that cause I think they are almost gone. I can bottom out the adjuster and it will hold but when i back it of about a half to full turn they no longer work. So i am not sure if they are accually to tight and possibly burning them up also.
