pfrederi 18,639 #1 Posted December 9, 2009 2-3 years ago I bought a home made rear axle hitch on ebay (I see he is still selling them). Looked nice but I didn't need it at the time so it went on the shelf. This year my rear axle hitch is still on the tiller tractor so I grabbed the homemade one from Ebay to put on my C175 8 speed. It didn't want to fit...I had to cut notches in it to clear the cast webs on the rear axle and enlarge the bolt holes to get it to slide close enough together so the plow frame would fit on. Also you have to mount it so the plow frame cross member is ahead of the rear axle. That makes using the latches a real pain as they point to the front and also messes up the equipment lift link. I had to replace it with some chain. That reduced the lifting clearance of the plow. So today I took off and started plowing...2 passes and the plow frame dropped out of the attachments. There were no holes to lock the handles. I drilled some and then realized the handles are hard up against the plow frame so you can' get any pin into the hole. I cinched the pivot bolts as tight as I could and hope the thing holds. I don 't know what the guy used as a pattern but it won't work on a C series 8 speed...Never again will I buy from him!!!! Had to finish the plowing with my Case DC

Had to finish the plowing with my Case DC I bought from him, and it is different from OEM, but they do work, on his the bolts go above and below the axle, different from the OEM ones. This said I still prefer OEM
