Polaris2007 4 #1 Posted December 8, 2009 Okay, my C-120 restoration is nearly complete. I just need to re-wire everything. The ignition switch that I have does not have the markings on it that are described in the wiring diagrams that have been posted here on Red Square. I have made a crude diagram of what i have below. The letters are stamped right on the metal connector terminals. The terminals are arranged on the switch just like you see in the diagram, if you are holding the switch so that you are looking at the back of it. The un-labelled terminal actually has no markings on it, and yes, there are 2 terminals labelled as "S". Can anyone tell me witch terminals should be labelled R, A, I, S, and B??? Thanks in advance....... Attached Image

The ones on the correct P/N 103990 -- which you don't have. Don't even attempt to use the switch you have unless you want to see smoking wires. :WRS:
pfrederi 18,640 #3 Posted December 8, 2009 Terry is right after all you time an effort don't be penny wise an pound foolish and cook your new wires to save a few bucks on a switch. That said switches aren't rocket science and if you sit down with your multimeter you can probably ID the terminals. Use the B terminal for one probe then see which other terminals have continuity with it in each key position off run start. the coil needs power in run and start Starter solenoid only in start Regulator and accessory only in run G is ground and should never have continuity with Bat. It should have continuity in off position with M (magneto)
