whfan74 2,071 #2 Posted December 7, 2009  Glad to have another member from across the pond! Any chance you have the model number along with that serial number you have already posted? Hope you enjoy the site! Once you get one they seem to multiply quickly! :notworthy:
The_Tyke 0 #3 Posted December 7, 2009 Hi Paul Congrats on your new purchase. I was watching that on Ebay. It's still on!!! From the info on Ebay it says it's a 1964 854. I wouldn't know myself, but I'm sure the experts will chime in. Where in "Sunny England" are you from?
Prater 76 #4 Posted December 7, 2009 Looks like someone fabbed up some floorboards on an 854. I am no expert though.
rickv1957 74 #5 Posted December 7, 2009 Tractor appears to be a 753 or a 854 model,Rick
dennis.teed 0 #6 Posted December 7, 2009 :notworthy: Mine is a 64 854 but I don't have floorboards and no evidence of ever having them... Other than that it looks identical to mine. Enjoy it!!! Dennis Columbus Twp, MI.
stevasaurus 23,275 #7 Posted December 7, 2009 Well Paul ..no expert here, but that K 181 S is an 8 horse Kohler for sure. That gas tank tells me a roung hood is the "bonnet" Should be a model # with the serial #. Nice horse...looks like you have a few sitting there. Pictures.
landsurveyor 2 #8 Posted December 7, 2009 This one is still on ebay, I am bidding on it......seems bit strange! looks like someone has added floorboards from a later model. I have never seen a round hood bonnet (Hood!!) for sale on this side of the pond, so would brobably be a difficult tractor to restore properly? Good luck though, could be an interesting tractor. linen beige 15 #9 Posted December 8, 2009 Any model number would have been on a decal on the belt guard. It may still be there under the newer paint. The K-181S engine is an 8 hp. I think this is what's left of a 1964 854.
d180man 5 #10 Posted December 8, 2009 Hi good luck with it!
pond195520032003 27 #11 Posted December 8, 2009 well it has the 2 piece gas tank, so im going to venture and say a 753, but could be a 854? the running boards are just formed metal, not wheel horse parts! i see someone cut the lift handle off hope this helps
Volvoman 1 #12 Posted December 8, 2009 K181S and 2 spoke concave steering wheel were original to the 854. If those two are original on this tractor, that would answer your question. 753 came with K161 engine and 3 spoke flat steering wheel.
linen beige 15 #13 Posted December 8, 2009 K181S and 2 spoke concave steering wheel were original to the 854. If those two are original on this tractor, that would answer your question. 753 came with K161 engine and 3 spoke flat steering wheel. Good point about the steering wheel. I think I also see the deeper air cleaner for an 854. BTW, The correct hood for the 854 is a touch longer than other similar looking hoods, to clear the deeper air cleaner. That may make searching for a hood a little more interesting.
Kelly 1,033 #14 Posted December 8, 2009 Yes the 854 and 754 hoods are longer by about 1", but if you find a standard round hood you could in a pinch, put the shallow air cleaner on it, and it would work, just a thought.
