tgranthamfd 29 #1 Posted December 7, 2009 Any of you folks seen or used any of the Brinly-Hardy implements? My brother bought a 38" box scraper and Blade combination, brought it over to get some help with the assembly, and I couldn't resist giving it a try. It did pretty good. I think he got it from Northern Tool. Here it is on my 2005 Classic GT 315-8. That is, of corse, him on it. gwgdog66 My, I mean his new wheel weights, too. tgranthamfd 29 #2 Posted December 7, 2009 I forgot to add that you could spin this thing completely around and push backwards, or for clean up. The second picture. I think I like it. Looks like this may be the way I will have to go to get the cultivaters for it, too.

linen beige 15 #7 Posted December 7, 2009 What's the extra braket on the back? A weight (concrete block) holder? I have one of these (without the bracket) and have put some 100 hours or so on it in dirt and gravel. My 1054A handles it very well. It's a bit light when used on a tractor with no down pressure, so added weight would be a big plus in new ground.
d180man 5 #8 Posted December 7, 2009 Hi yes that should be a concrete block holder !

Yes it is a bracket for a concrete block, has a long 3/8" carrage bolt and a hold down for the top of the block. I stood on it and let my brother drag me around, I weigh a little more than a block. :notworthy:
jtmoyer 1 #10 Posted December 7, 2009 i used one to move some dirt to put in a drive way. had to take the "block holder" off, it was letting it float and stay on top of the tilled ground. for weight i had the fam: dad, wife and 3 children stand on the blade. when i got to the end they got off and it lifted easily. i worked it to hard and bent the cheep bolt that holds the handle and enlarged the center hole so the blade moves a little. just a few week points. sawhorse 0 #11 Posted December 8, 2009 Those rear blades work best on the driveway after a rain. And some kind of downpressure helps on almost all the brinly implements. These implements will do the job - a little more patience and time may be needed. For loosening compacted garden soil, the subsoiler in my avatar does a fine job. And of course, those with horses might want to visit www.gardentractorgardening.com to see Micah's brinly implements at work.
