Sparky-(Admin) 23,139 #2 Posted December 6, 2009 Is that the serial # or the model #? It sounds more like a serial# to me. Can you post a pic or give us a real good description. Mike.....

TT-(Moderator) 1,162 #5 Posted December 6, 2009 I saw that one posted on another forum. It looks like a 1963 (or 1964) frame & front axle under parts of a 1962 502 or 552 - OR - a 1962 hoodstand & tank on a 1963 653 tractor. Either way, it's a mixture of parts from several tractors and the serial number listed would be from "early" 1962. :notworthy:
clintonnut 126 #6 Posted December 6, 2009 It could be a very early production '63. I have a 953 that has a serial 62-672. That's pretty early!! I doubt the hoodstand has been changed. it is probably the original sticker. It does have a '62 tank with the cast iron dash plate. That means it is probably a leftover parts production tractor. Michael Bullington 5 #7 Posted December 6, 2009 i think this is a pieced together tractor from a 62 and 63..maybe 64 models tractor...The frame looks different color than the tower...belts covers hood, gas tank mismatched ...so basically its a good parts tractor in my opinion...the serial is more than likely a 62 model. Ive actually put together tractors like this,, after taking all the good stuff to make others better,,,sometimes you just end up with an odd ball at the end. linen beige 15 #8 Posted December 7, 2009 Looks like a fastened together parts pile to me too. I like the "sidemount" spare tire! Was that a WH option? Or is it aftermarket?
Rollerman 290 #9 Posted December 7, 2009 I'm going to vote for peiced togeter too. Seems like better than half the round hoods I've aquired had mixed pedigree's. If you have the time & parts, it looks like it be a fun project to get going. I like the "sidemount" spare tire! Was that a WH option? Or is it aftermarket? Always liked the continental kits myself. :notworthy:
