Confused99 2 #1 Posted December 6, 2009 Drove a little over 300 miles one way yesterday to pick up this 520H. I am still down in Iowa and will know more about it tomorrow when I get her home. Runs great though. Currently visiting with my parents. Here is a picture of her still on the trailer. Jason

Confused99 2 #8 Posted December 7, 2009 Thanks guys for the comments. Thanks zieg72 for looking it over for me before I made the trip . It runs good and seems to move good. I picked up oil, filters, etc after I got home today. I also stopped up at the FD and washed her up with the help of my 6 year old daughter . I started going through her as I couldn't wait. Rear end oil looked pretty dirty (for hydro oil) but seemed to be full. The engine on the other hand........ . I drained around 3/4 of a quart of oil including what was in the filter out of the engine . It was quite sludgy (if that's a word) and the filter was a couple degrees past seated (very loose). At any rate I hope this doesn't become a problem in the future. I filled everything back up, spun on new filters, and greased her up. I also pulled the fan shroud and blew out the cooling fins. I still have a few things to do to her before I am 100% ready to go as I had to order a few parts. Here is a few pics of here after just getting started on draining the fluids. My 4 year old was helping me . I will post another pic later with the blower mounted and the revised snow attack team. Jason

Confused99 2 #10 Posted December 7, 2009 Thanks Indy. Here are some pics of the new team (did I mention I have an 8.5' Western on my truck ). The 312H feels alittle jealous now but with the blade it should keep happy this winter. Jason

Operator 7 #14 Posted December 7, 2009 Lookin good! Zieg72 picked it right didn't he? You'll have to buy him a cold one someday. I see the 312 has the red lettering, one of our 520"s has that but the rest are silver. Now a cab huh? Randy

I see the 312 has the red lettering, one of our 520"s has that but the rest are silver. Now a cab huh? Randy Yeah, he did very well and I appreciate him talking to me about what he found. That is interesting. The 312 is a '90 model. What year is your 520 with the red lettering? Yes, I am looking for a cab. Got one for sale? Let me know if you have an 8" hub cap you would part with. Confused99 2 #20 Posted December 9, 2009 Well, I went out after work to put the chute direction crank on I had to order and noticed the left front tire blew up over night. Big cut/hole in the side of it. They are talking some good snow tonight and tomorrow morning and we have 1 inch on the ground so far. Looks like I will have to wait until the next storm to use the blower. I just ordered 2 new front tires from Cedar Rapids Tire so those should be here on Thursday. Confused99 2 #21 Posted December 10, 2009 I used the truck to plow the driveway and dug the 312H w/blade out to do some cleanup work. I finished that in 10 min and decided to keep playing so I did 2 of the neighbors drives. Later in the evening, one of the neighbor's who's drive I did earlier was over at my garage shooting the s*** and I told him I was thinking about selling the 312H. He asked how much, I told him what I wanted, he said he would take it. I do have to store it for a week or so until he is finished moving in. My wife is less mad about the 520 purchase now but not happy I spent $100 on front tires for it yesterday. Oh well, can't make them 100% happy. Jason
Operator 7 #22 Posted December 10, 2009 You selling the "back-up" tractor? Or making room for more? Side note - My red lettered 520 turns out to be a "90" model. Randy
Confused99 2 #23 Posted December 10, 2009 You selling the "back-up" tractor? Or making room for more? Side note - My red lettered 520 turns out to be a "90" model. Randy Yes, I am selling the backup tractor but it won't be far . I don't plan on buying another but we all know how that goes . Next year I will use the Raider for my backup tractor. It is currently sitting in storage and I can't really get to it as I am sure it is buried. I am just excited that I got another person hooked on WH tractors. I just hope his wife isn't too mad at me . They just moved in a week ago . Interesting your 520H is a '90. That is what the 312H is so they must have went with red that year. Confused99 2 #24 Posted December 13, 2009 Tires came in yesterday and switched them out lastnight here are some pictures of that. They are Carlisle Multi Trac C/S . I will switch out the rears in the spring. When the old tire blew, it sprayed the fix a flat stuff on the side of the tractor Here they are mounted back on the tractor After doing a few other things to her, I just had to try out the blower. So I found some snow to blow. All I can say is wow. The sound of that Onan working is like music. I am a big fan of the Kohler singles but I might have to convert . I can't wait for more snow. Confused99 2 #25 Posted December 13, 2009 Also, that was the first time the blower has ever seen snow I am also having a problem with the throttle slowing down on it's own. I had to hold it at full throttle otherwise it would slow down to 3/4 throttle after about 1 min. Any tips on fixing this or should I just go pick up a new one?
