jaredbo 0 #1 Posted December 6, 2009 Hello all, I am new Wheel Horse owner but very familiar with the Wheel Horse tractor as I have been around them all my life. I just purchased a new '88 416-8, model number 31-16K804. The instrument panel lights do not work, i.e. seat switch light, PTO light, etc. We took the panel apartment and noticed that one bulb was missing and one was blown. Would this cause all the lights not to work? If so, anyone know where I can purchase bulbs for the instrument panel cluster for this tractor?? Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks, Jared
tgranthamfd 29 #2 Posted December 6, 2009 Jared, first off, 2nd look through this post. It will explane a lot, although it is way to technical for me. Hope this helps. http://www.wheelhorseforum.com/index.php?showtopic=12887
gwgdog66 23 #3 Posted December 6, 2009 :notworthy: The part number is 111331 you need 5 for your tractor. They are available here. http://www.rcpw.com/toro-parts/genuine/111331.html I can't answer the question if they will cause all lights not to work, as I'm not familiar with this particular machine. Bow_Extreme 550 #4 Posted December 6, 2009 I would check the wiring diagram first to answer your question. I'm pretty sure the idiot lights are all seperate in function. Most of these tractors have issues with wiring at one time or another. It's worth the time and effort to check each of the circuits to make sure they are functioning. It's not an easy task. Be sure your up to the task and have the extra time and knowledge to do so.

Save Old Iron 1,571 #6 Posted December 6, 2009 jaredbo, all the indicator lights are feed off a single +12 volt copper trace on the circuit board. the circuit board I was rebuilding in the post mentioned above had a a few corroded traces (wires) that prevented all the lights from functioning. A close, careful visual inspection under bright light with a magnifying glass will probably reveal corrosion on the board connector or the copper traces - especially under the matted material under the lamp contacts. If you need any further help, let me know. I do believe there are at least two different versions of that board too. I do owe you guys an update on that post. I'm updating the incandescent lights to LED's (which has slowly turned into a rebuild / repaint project of half the tractor). Let me know if you need any help if you decide to rebuild your indicator board.
