Brrly1 1,146 #1 Posted December 3, 2009 Ok, I have a question for all the guys who know a whole lot more than me. Basically that would be about everybody. Anyways I have a question pertaining to the rear wheels on a 953 - 1054. The question would be will the rear wheels of a GT14 which is a wider wheel than the 953,1054, bolt up to the 953,1054 or would there be interference from the inside wheel well or frame. Just kind of curious as if anyone has tried this application. Thanks ahead of time. See Ya, Bye Burly :notworthy:

Indy w h 5 #3 Posted December 3, 2009 John, my 1054 has 27-8.50's-15's on it and I think the gt-14's run about the same size but don't quote me on that Indy
Hammerhead 817 #4 Posted December 3, 2009 Hey John haven't seen you in awhile! I talked to you up in northern Ohio once at a tractor show. I think it was Mansfield or Auglaize county. You bought your one 1956 or 57 RJ that day. My buddy Packrat and I had a few WH's up there that day. I had long hair as did you but I cut all mine off last year! But I think the rear wheels will fit on the 953 or 1054. Most people probably don't know this but they made the 1054-A in 1965 and it had the wide rear tires like what a GT14 had on them a few years later. The hubs are the same also. Should bolt right on with no problems! Now for some more info nobody knows about. WH also made the 1054-A in 1966!!! I have paperwork to back up this claim. A 1966 WH Brochure with the 1054 clearly being marketed still! Wowsa, alot of investigation work went into this. Here's a pic of a 1965 1054-A I picked up a few years ago. It came with the wide rear tires and the 1965 style front tires which are wider than the ones that are on the tractor now, but they have been replaced recently. On the 1054-A factory owners manual in shows the correct wide rear tires and wide front tires. I got this tractor for free when the owner blew up the engine and wanted it hauled away! Brrly1 1,146 #6 Posted December 6, 2009 Hey guys, Thanks for all of the answers, they're are very much appreciated. I thought that they would fit but I was unsure. So at any rateI know my answernow. Hammerhead that sure is a nice collection of round hoods you have there. I figured somebody has to have them because you just don't see that many any more especially up here. I met a guy in Norwalk who thought he knew you and he also knew where there were a couple round hoods but I haven' ever heard back from him. Talk to you guys soon. See Ya, Bye Burly Merry Christmas and Happy New Year Go Hawkeyes!!! :notworthy:
