wallfish 16,027 #1 Posted December 1, 2009 Scored another Clinton today. I don't really need it at all but just couldn't pass it up so it looks like Charlie will be getting another parts list. Threw in some pics of a 1945 Briggs ZZ motor that was picked up yesterday. I guess I'm a small engine collector now. This thing is a 6hp but it's about the size of a 10hp Kohler. Fires up on first pull and runs pretty smooth.

TT-(Moderator) 1,129 #3 Posted December 2, 2009 Those old iron Briggs "big blocks" are cool, John. The connecting rods are almost as long as leg bone in a giraffe. Very nice "capture"! :notworthy:
VinsRJ 721 #4 Posted December 2, 2009 John, where did you locate that Clinton? I look everyday everywhere and never find Clintons, specially a 1290 :notworthy:
wallfish 16,027 #5 Posted December 2, 2009 John, where did you locate that Clinton? I look everyday everywhere and never find Clintons, specially a 1290 About 20 min north of Hartford I went to a guys house to pick up a snow cab (Crapsman but it will work for now) and he had some motors for sale. The rest were Briggs, verts and a an ugly Tecumseh. His father used to run an old small engine repair shop. I asked him about any NOS parts for Clintons and Kohlers. All of the stuff was packed away in the back of a garage but he is going to check it out and give me a call. It was an old dusty place filled with mostly crap but I hoping there's some good stuff in the back. I saw racks of stuff back there but couldn't tell what it was. Problem was that he knew what the motor was worth and the same for the parts. I also scored a 12v starter for my H55, I think.
