The_Tyke 0 #1 Posted November 28, 2009 Hi from Yorkshire, England! I am now the proud owner of a Wheel Horse Raider 14 and I'm trying to get some basic info on it. The previous owner is trying to find the manual at the moment. He says his father bought it new in 1976 and it has been with the family ever since. From a small plate on the tractor I have got the following numbers; Model L-0380 Serial Number 151298 Amnor N.V. B-2431 OEVEL BELGIUM It looks like it was imported by GD MOUNTFIELD LIMITED with a serial number of 7874 The cutting deck has the following numbers; Model 5-1211 Serial Number 150194 Amnor N.V. B-2431 OEVEL BELGIUM I'll get some pictures tomorrow as it is a bit dark at the moment. Any info would be greatly appreciated.

Gene_S 93 #3 Posted November 28, 2009 First off and glad you could join us Wheel Horse nuts! Your number should be "1-0380" not the letter "L". This number tells me you have a 1974 C-160 and should be a 16hp motor. Does it say Raider 14 on the side? Thanks, Gene
The_Tyke 0 #4 Posted November 28, 2009 Indy & Gene Thanks for the welcome. You're probably right about the number as it's dark and raining here. I grabbed the numbers before I covered it up. It does say "Raider 14" on the sides.

TT-(Moderator) 1,127 #7 Posted November 28, 2009 The numbers on the Belgium-built tractors do not appear to match the USA models. Hopefully one of the folks from "over there" can come up with a list of the correct translation of numbers. Once that information is attained, we should be able to tell you a little more.

landsurveyor 2 #15 Posted November 29, 2009 Hello to Yorkshire from down in Dorset, You got a fine horse there, for a very good price! Have you got it running yet? I have a 1974 Raider 10 built in Belgium, and my serial number also says it is a C series! Does anyone have any info on the belgian built tractors? I was bidding on your tractor, but it was a bit too far for me to come and get it. Hope you enjoy it! Simon
The_Tyke 0 #16 Posted November 29, 2009 Can I say thanks for the warm welcome from the forum. Hi to landsurveyor & mcdarbyc81 in the UK Yes it is the one from Ebay UK. I've been looking for a Wheel Horse for some time now, but they always seem to be in the south of England or they end up going for far too much money. I hit lucky on this one as it was only an hour away from where I live and I didn't have to leave Yorkshire! The pics are from Ebay and really don't do it justice. Slight bit of surface rust on the bonnet and on the top of the engine cowling, but nothing to worry about. I'll take my own pics later as it's been bouncing it down all day. The intention is to use it to do a bit of running around for my son on the in laws bit of land. Do a bit of weed topping and use it as a bit of eye candy when selling topsoil and compost. I've not had it running yet as the battery is flat and my bother has lifted my charger and jump leads!!! Look forward to getting your advice as the project picks up speed. stevasaurus 22,230 #17 Posted November 29, 2009 Andy... . You are right about that tractor...it is eye candy :notworthy:
fordsonmajortom 1 #18 Posted November 30, 2009 Hi Andy I have a1974 Raider 14 with the same model number as yours, The 1-0380 says it should be a 16hp engine . it's a european market model with a 14hp engine .They used the 16hp model number because there wasn't a 14hp C series marketed in the USA. If that makes sense !!!. If you have any questions give us a shout. Michael

The_Tyke 0 #20 Posted November 30, 2009 Here are a few more pictures now it's stopped raining. fordsonmajortom thanks for the offer of help. And how long do you think it will take to cut my lawn?
travisg84 1 #21 Posted November 30, 2009 I love the lawn!! It probably takes longer to get the tractor in there than to do the cutting. Thats a beautiful old horse you've got! :notworthy:
landsurveyor 2 #22 Posted November 30, 2009 Hey Andy, She looks a lovely original tractor, nice Landrover too!! Simon
can whlvr 991 #23 Posted December 1, 2009 nice tractor
gwest_ca-(File Mod) 10,499 #24 Posted December 1, 2009 The 7179697 is a 1975 Kohler serial number so that makes the tractor a 1975 or 1976. The 5-1211 shows up as a 1975 mower deck but that doesn't mean much. Be interesting to see what the engine serial numbers are on other Raider 14's. The K321S-60137d only shows for the 1973 models on the west side of the big pond. Garry
The_Tyke 0 #25 Posted December 1, 2009 Many thanks for your kind comments about my horse. I have to say it's rekindled the engineer in me. The Wheel Horse is such a well engineered piece of kit. Garry many thanks for the info. Simon, I love my Landy as much as my horse!
