Kelly 1,033 #1 Posted February 21, 2008 I have not had a pan off a short frame big block tractors ie. 1075, 1055 and 1045 and I know I missed one, but anyway do you know if JD used the same pan ? look at this one Item number: 270212173636 and let me know what you think ? Michcruiser60 0 #3 Posted February 21, 2008 I've been wanting to do the same thing. Oil pans seem to be killing me latley. Are the short frame pans differant on the big blocks? The mid-80's 10hp Kohler I've got has the square oil pan. And ran the V-blocks for mounting. Is there a differnant pan for it so it can be bolted on a short frame? Or do I need to find an old Kohler for this project? I don't mean to hi-jack here but just lookin for good info because it seems I'm in the same boat. Rollerman 290 #4 Posted February 21, 2008 Mich the short frame tractors (1045,1055,& 1075) with the K241's did have a differant oil pan so they sat a bit lower to clear the hood. I have a few here in my shop...I'll have to dig one out for pics? They also had some other unique parts...the lift lever had a differant bend to clear the starter generator. The drive belt guard on them is off set away from the engine too. I beleive TT mentioned them haveing a differant starter generator belt guard also....that was a new one on me...I'm still learning. Kelly 1,033 #5 Posted February 22, 2008 Stephen, Could you try to at least take a look at yours and see if it's like the one on ebay for me before it ends tonight? that one has the drain plug in the bottom but look like it has bosses in the ends if not holes. It was used on 11 different spec. numbers (2 are service engines) on the K-241 engines and 2 different spec. numbers on the K-301. (both are Arctic Enterprises Snowmobiles) (none of them are Cub Cadet, Case, JD, etc., and only 2 are Wheel Horse) Share this post Link to post Share on other sites

perry 82 #10 Posted February 22, 2008 hey kelly. email me your bolt pattern measurements. i have a couple shallow oil pans. one from a 1965 springfield/toro & a ford/jacobsen tractor. if i remember right i had the springfield 10hp bolted to a WH 856. I had to verify that, so I looked that up too. The Kohler P/N for the S/G guard is 235529 for the "short pan" models. (1045, 1075, etc.) P/N 235528 is the guard for the "big pan" models. I thought I had one out where I could get to it...but there all buried at the bottom of my wall of Kohlers.
