Hallas 0 #1 Posted November 23, 2009 skipped out on church to chase after a CL ad. '83 GT-1142 For 200 bucks well worth it in my opinion Deck is pretty much shot but I have a 257-H for the mowing, but bought this to do the dirty work in the garden come spring. My wife was NOT happy that another tractor came home on the trailer, but she better get used to it, right guys! My 257 seems so delicate compared to this. Low range, and the size of the transaxle tell me that this is more of a machine. Too bad no plow on, but my 257 has the snowblower that i'll use this winter. bork 0 #9 Posted November 24, 2009 Nice find, but I think I would have gone to church & then deal. God's 1st for me. Then I would have a clearer conscience. BTW; Cute kids!
stevasaurus 23,274 #10 Posted November 24, 2009 someone told me ...there are more women out there then tractors...not sure what he meant by that she should look at the smile on your son's face. priceless
Craig Arndt 6 #11 Posted November 25, 2009 $200 is a great deal. The deck may be shot but that tiller seems really good. That tractor is really tough. Looks like you are already thinking of changing the gear oil, which is really a good idea.
Duff 206 #12 Posted November 25, 2009 Nice find, but I think I would have gone to church & then deal. God's 1st for me. Then I would have a clearer conscience. BTW; Cute kids! Bork, do the scriptures not say, "Go forth and multiply"? Perhaps in His wisdom the Lord was looking ahead to when man would find a tractor worthy of gracing the earth, and Hallas was just doing his part to see that they survive.... Hallas 0 #14 Posted November 27, 2009 Congrats on the new horse! And $200 aint bad at all especially with the tiller.  I am in CT and have a 48 inch plow. If you are interested shoot me a PM. I've been looking around local for a plow, hopefully something will come up closer. The workhorse is going to be my backup for the 257 w/ blower this winter. But if that craps out I will need one definitely. Are the plows generally universal with the Tach-a-matic? And I did go to church first. I am the Sexton at my congregation, and I opened shop, split, and then returned for the end! This is the 257.
