Prater 76 #1 Posted November 23, 2009 Craigslist add netted me this new tractor. The PO said the ignition switch had gone bad but could jumper the tractor to start it, and the hydrolic lift on the 3-point has quit working. Came with a 48 side discharge belly mower, 4 foot Bolens PTO mower, and a 3 point grader blade. Here are a few pics, had to hide it from the wife so its at dads shop... Confused99 2 #10 Posted November 23, 2009 Here are a few pics, had to hide it from the wife so its at dads shop... And I thought I was the only one that did that. I have a rear mount grader blade sitting in the warehouse at work right now just waiting for the right time to bring it home. Next to the grader blade will be a 48" front blade tomorrow afternoon Jason
linen beige 15 #11 Posted November 23, 2009 I really like the blinds for a grille Can you pull the string from the driver's seat for enhanced engine cooling in hot weather? Nice find! I kinda like the way that deck is hung off the back. It would make backing up under low limbs or into corners a breeze.

Prater 76 #15 Posted November 23, 2009 Yeah, I made the trip to Newalla. Could not pass it up for the price. I will use it to pull my boats around the yard...LOL
tgranthamfd 29 #16 Posted November 23, 2009 Any ideas, as of yet, on just what is wrong with the lift? The other issue might just be the switch or the solinoid, I hope. That's all it was on my 1980 c black hood, don't know which I just replaced both. Got the switch at orielly's and my original key fit it.
Prater 76 #17 Posted November 23, 2009 Dont know about the hydro yet. The ignition switch is toast. I have a good one in my box of parts. It will be after I sale the C-100 before I even start on that one. I got the 100 running the other night but I cant tell if it has a rod knock or a sticky valve. Do you have a stethascope? It might help determine the knock in the C-100.
whfan74 2,071 #19 Posted November 23, 2009 Great score! The D's sure are fun to play around on! To answer one of your earlier questions..........yes you are looking for Cat O attachments for the D's. Good luck with it! :notworthy:
Prater 76 #20 Posted November 23, 2009 Thanks for the answer on the Cat 0. I will be looking for a FEL now.
pfrederi 18,639 #21 Posted November 23, 2009 Thanks for the answer on the Cat 0. I will be looking for a FEL now. It will handle Cat 0 implements but watch out for powered implements. PTO speed is not standard 540. Finish mowers. bush hogs, tillers etc may not work, they have to be designed for the higher PTO speed on a D series.
Prater 76 #22 Posted November 23, 2009 What speed does the rear PTO run?

Prater 76 #24 Posted November 23, 2009 To all those making fun of the grill, I just checked on the TORO parts site and it showed that to be the grille...Am I missing something?
dgoyette 12 #25 Posted November 23, 2009 Congrats on the D - looks good! Hopefully you will be able to bring it home sometime in the near future - lol. I would take a closer look at the OEM grill - it is quite different. Your grill frame may be the original but someone replaced the lateral steel louvers with what appears to be blinders. There are a few D's in the picture forum here.
