snow blower (What's Better)

Recommended Posts

Shuboxlover

I have a 42" snow blower that has the wheels, NOT the skid plates.

My question is which is better and why?

Thanks

The blower I use has the skid plates but I added adjustable wheels so I could move it around when it's not attached to the tractor. Skid plates would be better for gravel surfaces because the thinner wheels would tend to "dig in" more. I wouldn't think that it makes any difference on hard surfaces.

I agree with John good explanation and I would add one more thing, that steel wheels on concrete would probably last longer. :notworthy:

Skids wear out. If they are bolted on, it's easier to change them.

I agree........skids can become a hassle if on concrete. Unless you have access to fab things up fairly easy then you would be ok.

I love having the wheels on mine.....makes it very simple to move it around the shop when not attached to the tractor.
