dunk50 6 #1 Posted November 10, 2009 I have looked at a couple of C-160 threads where they were restored. They show a hinge system where the entire fender base system tilts back and has a box for storage underneath. Then some do not. I looked up mine on the Toro Parts Store and mine is like on the Toro site but not like the ones in the posts. I don't have the storage or tilting fender base. The reason I am asking is it appears to be correct but the trans dip stick is almost impossible to get to. Is that normal????
tgranthamfd 29 #2 Posted November 10, 2009 As far as I know all the C-160 8 speeds had fender deck that were hinged with the tool box undernieth, but I am not sure about the auto's. There will be some experts along shortly, though. :notworthy:

tgranthamfd 29 #4 Posted November 10, 2009 From the Toro Master Parts Viewer, the 74 and 75 auto's had fender latches, and the 76 and 77 auto's did not have a fender latch. Hope this info is correct. :notworthy:
Don1977 605 #5 Posted November 10, 2009 What you have is like my 1977 C-120 my guess is that the C-160's were the same.

Kelly 1,033 #7 Posted November 11, 2009 75 and older tractors 8 speed and autos, the fender flips up, the 76 and 77's had solid mount fenders, but the seats tilted. in 78 and 79 the gas tank is under the fender, and the seats tilt.
dunk50 6 #8 Posted November 11, 2009 Well then, my 77 C-160 Auto is correct with a bolted down fender and a seat that flips up. It just looked odd to have a short trans fill / check tube and a hole in the seat base too small to reach into to get it out. You actually have to reach under from the back and push it up through the hole under the seat. If the hole was 5" instead of 2" you could just reach down and grip the dip stick. Oh well, still love the tractor. Thanks for the input guys.
