Carb linkage

Recommended Posts

Catch35

New guy here. Read the post by "Redhorse" and find myself in his shoes. I just obtained a Wheelhorse 312-8 with a Kohler Magnum M12 engine. It runs rather well at mid range but will not idle and the linkage was disconnected. I hooked it up according to the wear in the holes but I'm not sure that it is right. If anyone can provide a picture of the linkage on this tractor, I would really appreciate it.

I also notice that the carb throttle shaft seems a little loose and figure that it may be sucking air at this point. Not wanting to spend $280 for a new carb, I wonder if I can repair it by using the old trick I use to use on Ford fladheads. If I counterbore the shaft end holes and install an "o" ring in them it might give me a few more months/years of service. What do you all think?

Many thanks in advance for your help..........Catch35

Karl has provided a link to some pictures in this thread: http://www.wheelhorseforum.com/index.php?...hrottle+linkage

As for the throttle shaft wear, Kohler makes a kit to replace the shaft and bushings. The procedure is explained in the manual, downloadable from here:
