Picked up another worker today...

Recommended Posts

Picked up another worker today, since I traded my worker for the RJ-35... It runs like a CHAMP, but is going to need some frame surgery. I'll probably just straighten it the best I can, weld and brace it... and put it to work. Later on, I may do a frame swap (the transmission plate has previously been ripped apart and repaired), or find a engineless mid 60's long frame and use all the goodies on it.

There is also a clicking noise in the transmission, but it is only when backing up in HI range. :notworthy:

I'm guessing that it was from doing a lot of wheelies...

EDIT: I guess it wasn't from the wheelies, but the landing after the wheelies.

Where is Center Point Indiana? I have a 312-8 chassis in the back yard that I'm going to give away as scrap metal to a disabled friend. I'm in the extreme southeast corner of Indiana. Your welcome to it if we're not too far apart and you want to come get it. The rear end is no good (full of water) but the frame is alright. I used the rear end in another tractor and stuck the junk rear end in it to make it mobile. Tires, control cables, steering is all there and your welcome to the whole thing.

Jon: Redoing/restoring your friends 314-8 you must have consumed a lot of fumes!

Got you hooked now on these newer Wheel Horse's!

My 312-8 hood sure looks better than that one. Wish you lived closer, you could have it.

Jon,

You aren't kidding that those are some tough hours put on that machine. We have all seen what you can do and I am sure before too long we might not even recognize it. I wish I had some parts that you might need but it looks like there are plenty of offers on the table for you.

Good luck with it!

Thanks for the offers fellas! I think Devin (fritz) has me covered... I just gotta call him sometime. I think he's got the frame AND hood... I DO appreciate the offers though.

I don't think this one is going to get all fixed up. I think I'm just going to adress the problems and put it to work. Will be nice to have one I can beat on and not worry about scuffing the paint. :notworthy:
