Red Horse 33 #1 Posted November 3, 2009 :scratchead: Would it be possible for anyone who owns a 308-8 to post a clear picture of the choke and throttle linkage hookups. I had my engine rebuilt a few weeks ago and finally got around to putting it back on the frame. The throttle wants to run wide open(!) so I'm figuring that I've messed up the correct orientation on the cables . There is also the possibility of a small spring gone missing(?). Any help would be appreciated.
kpinnc 14,588 #2 Posted November 3, 2009 Could the small spring be the governor spring? I think I have a complete 181 at home- I'll check this evening and post a pic if no one else beats me to it. Kevin
Jim_M 179 #3 Posted November 3, 2009 I have a 308-8 with a Magnum. I'm going to be out of town most of the week, but if nobody puts up pictures before then, I'll get some this weekend.
Sparky-(Admin) 23,138 #4 Posted November 4, 2009 Although I dont have a 308 I think they came with both the "K" series and the Magnun series motor depending on the year. Which do you have? Mike.......
Red Horse 33 #5 Posted November 4, 2009 Thanks to everyone who replied. Looks like it was the adjustment on the external governor linkage. Got it adjusted and it runs great. :scratchead:
