Need some help guys - I pulled the 753 in to see what the engine needed to get running

Well ... the engine on the Blue horse has no cooling tinware so...

No ID numbers on it - :scratchead:

My guess is its a Tecumseh , maybe a 7 hp from what I can tell from the carb & air filter. :hide:

As you can see ,its a trans-plant

Also this must have been a deluxe 753 model, since it has a city horn too :ychain:

Any Ideas welcome

Thanks,Chaz :ychain:

From what I could tell from the carb - it's a 7hp or smaller :scratchead:

I guess the only way to know for sure is to pull the head and measure the piston size.

Next question is ... can any body hook me up with the cooling tin ware ??

It had a stater /generator on it ,so will need that type of tin ware

Please Pm me if you can help

Thanks all :ychain:

Well guys, I found a Kohler 7 hp for the Blue Horse.

Wasn't complete, just a long block. Will need torn down and gone over.

I do need a carb for it - don't even know what carb goes on it, so if any body can tell me what carb number goes on on K161 I would appreicate it

thanks ,Chaz :notworthy:

the early production K161 came with a Carter "N" model side-draft carb.

Late production K161 are equipped with Kohler side draft carbs. No letters or numbers are given for the Kohler carb.

Don't know how you could tell the difference between early and late production,

maybe the serial #...but I would guess the carborators may be interchangeable.

If you have the linkage, you may be able to tell from manual pictures.

Anyway...there seems to be only 2 choises. :notworthy:

I'll have to look to be sure, but I think the Carter "N" and/or Kohler carb is either a #18 or #20 - depending on application.

New ones are very expensive but you should be able to find a good used one here on the internet.
