Suburban 550 28 #1 Posted November 1, 2009 Well, it won't be too much longer before the snow starts to fall, so I figured I better get ready. Got both horses all ready last weekend and they're rarin' to go. Here's the C-121 with the snowblade And a couple of pictures of the Raider 10 with the single stage snowblower and homebuilt cab And a couple closeups for Mike (bustedglass) And the two of them in their stable patiently waitin' for the first flake to fly
Doubletrouble 10 #2 Posted November 1, 2009 That' a neat snow cab! Can I be nosey and ask if it was expensive to build? Nice tractors by the way, have fun in the snow.

Suburban 550 28 #4 Posted November 1, 2009 Al, you're not the first one told me that. Well I'll have somethin' for him to ride in if he ever decides to come to town. :scratchead:

Suburban 550 28 #6 Posted November 1, 2009 Don, the cab is 1/4" plexiglass. All the materials were donated by a friend and it was up to me to design it. The cab was built back in 1996.

pfrederi 18,639 #9 Posted November 2, 2009 How well does it plow without wheel weights???
W9JAB 156 #10 Posted November 2, 2009 The cab is very cool, been thinking of doing something like that only using building foam board, and plexi glass windows, to keep cost down. As someone who has had much comments on lighting

bitten 134 #13 Posted November 3, 2009 The first thing I thought was pope mobile. Looks like you are ready for battle. Some fine looking tractors. Kinda thought that maybe I will at least get the oil changed before then. Now that I think about I have to get the plow out from its hiding place. Get the chains out and put them on. Check the oil in the gearbox for the blower. That reminds me I have to make a new foot for the plow. Grease everything. Oh man what am I doing here on the computer? I need to go and get this stuff done.....It can wait till tomorrow. :scratchead:
Suburban 550 28 #14 Posted November 3, 2009 Thanks guys for all the compliments. Bitten, I know what you mean about gettin' off the computer and doin' things that need to be done. This is the first year I have everything done so early. Paul as far as wheel weights both tractors have about 60 lbs. of home made lead discs in each rear wheel behind the hubcaps. The C-121 is virtually unstoppable when it comes to plowing snow. It's a real worker.
bustedglass 1 #15 Posted November 3, 2009 Thanks Ray, Ingenious design and fabrication. I am a retired glazing contractor, and we did a lot of projects with plexi-glas. But, this is the first time that I have seen a "COMPLETE" tractor cab made from plexi-glas. All I can say is, you sir are a "Master" .
