fritz 1 #1 Posted November 1, 2009 I picked up an Rj today. i think it is a 35. I do not know. it has a 4 hp kohler that is not original. I am looking to determine the year of it.. how and what things do I look for? another qusiton. it runs, it has a sickle bar mower that works, needs a belt, it needs a belt guard... how much do you all think it is worth?? stevebo-(Moderator) 8,527 #2 Posted November 1, 2009 Devin, Great find !! Looks like a 56 or 57, but NOT a 55. You have a tube housed lift and hte 55 has a solid lift arm. You have stops in the front of the frame for the axle, the early 55's do not. The hood is stamped and not sure when that started. I am not sure if any of the 35's had that. There are guys here that know much more than I do so they may be able to help you. You are missing the belt guard so it is hard to tell. If you decide to sell the sickle let me know- Thanks !! Gerry w 2 #3 Posted November 1, 2009 Really nice find Devin, BUT, I'm afraid it's not worth much, as a matter of fact it is going to bring down th worth of your other tractors so if it would help you out I'll get in my honda right now, bad back and all, and take it off your hands!
