36" Side Discharge Into Rear Discharge ??

I have a 36" SD deck and would love to be able to turn it into a RD. I know that some fabrication would be needed. Has anyone tried this before?

I've searched for a RD shell but haven't found one as of yet.

I'am sure it could be done, but I don't think it would be worth the time spent and the trouble. Buying a complete RD deck would be a better option.

Hmm, if your still interested in making a rear discharge deck let me know. This winter I'll be making a new deck for mine. Its a 36" RD deck.

I know a guy with access to a water jet machine. I was going to make a "blue print" of what I wanted the shell to be and have him cut it out. Making more than one at that point is no big deal. The rest of the structure appears to be U channel and some gussets. which shouldn't be very pricey.

Assuming your drive train on the deck is the same as mine it would be easy.

I can at least let you know how much I spend on it.
