Now that I have the wagon....

There is no Model#/Seriel# badge on the wagon. Some people say it may be a 7-2112. How would I know that for sure. Is there a definitive feature the 7-2112 has that the 7-2111 doesn't have or vice/versa. Also, are these the only two model numbers of these wagons, or are there more. Was 1975 the last time they made these wagons?

Boy o' boy....lost of questions, but I don't know much about it other than it's cooler than #@$ :scratchead::hide::ychain: And I plan to restore it, so I want to know as much about is as possible. If you need a pic of the wagon, it is in a thread about 10 down or so.

I missed this when you first posted it, and since you didn't get an answer....

Strictly based on the decals on the wagon... your wagon is between a 73-76. That unfortunately means that it could be a 7-2111, a 7-2112 or a 67-11WG01. There are no physical differences between them. The only identifier on them was the serial tag which was glued to the bottom flange of one of the narrow sidewalls. Since they were glued, most don't survive.

The 7-2111 models prior to your used the 8138 decal which is the black letters 'WHEEL HORSE' that was the fender decal from 69-72. You can see an example here...

Before that they used the 5604 trapezoid shaped brushed aluminum like this,

Before that the 4411 implement decal. that looked like this,

and before that (on the UW-641) they used the 1961 bow tie style decal.

Other models prior to the ones already listed were the UW-645, UW-643, UW-641 and UW-64. This wagon was listed in 16 production years. I wouldn't call it rare, but it's definitely less common than other attachments. For 16 production years, there are remarkably few known survivors. Could be that it wasn't a popular sales item either. Most people don't want to mess with trying to back up a 4 wheeled wagon, and for many people a dump cart is much more useful. I imagine like many of the old attachments, there are still a fair amount squirreled away in barns and corn cribs all over the country. A few will make it to auction, others will be scrapped. Looks like you've found a good one. Take care of it.

Thank-You so much for the info.....I wondered when someone was going to answer the call :thumbs2: That is some very useful info. and YES I do agree with one of your statements. I've only had the wagon for about a month and have used it a handful of times. I can back up a trailer in nothing flat, especially with a relatively slow moving tractor, but backing up the wagon :notworthy::thumbs::WRS::):banghead::banghead::banghead: OMG!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Thanks Again

It is much appreciated!!!
