Polaris2007 4 #1 Posted October 22, 2009 I completely disassembled the Kohler 12hp in my C-120 for a restoration......It's been apart so long that I forgot how all the governor, throttle, and choke linkages and cables go together. I'm trying to reassemble everything, and I have this big bucket of parts, and can't quite get it straight. Is there any way one or more people that have 12hp Kohlers could maybe pop their air cleaners off and snap a few close ups that show how it all goes together?? I would be deeply indebted. Thanks...More pics to come soon in my restoration thread.....

KB9LOR 4 #5 Posted October 23, 2009 Very confusing, on the Manuals, here are my numbers: 12hp Model---K301s Serial---067850 Spec----47147b How do I use them to find the right manual?
MikesRJ 558 #6 Posted October 23, 2009 I agree that page might be seen as confusing. I'll have to work on that one next. Go to the page I posted above, I've fixed the K301 for now. The three manuals under K301 are the Owners Manual, and two revisions of the Service Manuals. The Rev. 1992 is the latest given out by Kohler and will be most correct. The service manual should contain the answers to your Q's.
jpmcleod 4 #7 Posted October 23, 2009 I have a 1977 C120 with a Kohler 12 and the original owners manual for the tractor and mower deck. I could copy the sections you need and send them to you if you don't get what you need in the near future. As a Redsquare member, I would be willing to take the chance and mail you the manual and you copy the whole thing and mail my manual back. Some times you have to trust someone. I just purchased two items from two other members. Sent each of them a check and let them clear the bank. They mailed me the parts. Let me know if I can help. KB9LOR 4 #8 Posted October 23, 2009 Thanks mikesrj, I found the info, and the way it was before was a bit confusing, but it is ALOT better with the setup now.

Polaris2007 4 #10 Posted October 24, 2009 Hi all. I'm really pulling my hair out here. I have checked all the manuals online and I now see how the throttle/governer linkage goes together on my '77 C-120, but I can not for the life of me see where the throttle cable sheath is supposed to clamp to. I can see the end of the cable in the pic that GWGDOG66 posted in an earlier post, but I can not see where the cable sheath attaches. I can also see where the choke cable sheath attaches from the same picture. I can't even find THAT bracket in my bucket of parts WHY DIDN'T I TAKE A PICTURE OF THIS SIDE OF THE ENGINE BEFORE I TOOK IT APART????????? I have another bracket similar to the choke cable bracket, but smaller and angled, that is made for holding a cable...i got no idea if this was used for my choke or my throttle cable....Man I am Frustrated!! Can anyone take a pic or two of both of their cable connections?? I would SO happy to get this sorted out.....Thanks guys, Jon H.

It is angled \ beside the fuel line. I had to get the camera at an angle to get a good pic of the clamp. This is looking down at the Choke clamp that runs up from the bottom. hodge 6 #12 Posted October 25, 2009 Where are you located, Polaris? Perhaps there is another member in your region. Seeing another tractor in person may be of great value. Mark
