Horse Fanatic 51 #1 Posted October 21, 2009 I see loaders on both hydro machines and manual trans. What do you prefer and why? I supposse a hydro with foot control would be ideal as it would leave both hands free but that's too pricey. Thanks.
fireman 1,022 #2 Posted October 21, 2009 After driving around my C-81 (8 speed) and playing with the loader controls for awhile, I would think if you have a hydro, a foot control would be a necessity. If you have your right hand on the drive lever and the left on the loader controls you'll have to steer with your knee. With the 8 speed I can use my feet to control tractor movement and still be able to steer and control the loader at the same time. Just my humble $.02 :scratchead:

C-Series14 15 #4 Posted October 21, 2009 I have a 1979 WH FEL on my 1979 C-161 8-Speed and that is the only way I would go. I like the ability to put it in what ever gear I want and then work the Loader. Same with tilling...that is my opinion. Been on the same tractor close to 10 years now i believe! It has had 320 lbs. of suitcase weights on the back with wheel weights and nothing broke yet! Double digits on the tons of gravel, dirt, snow, tree trunks, doghouses, tractors, mulch, and what ever else I have hauled! :scratchead:
