refracman 167 #1 Posted October 20, 2009 Went to a little auction east of me and found this nice little 1076. This guy bought just about every attachment for too. I went primarialy for the drag but there was another RS member there( HI Don) who was determined to have it! But came home with the tractor which had the tiller and wheel weights on it, the dump cart, cultivator and aireator. The tractor has the ol' cyclops head lite and tail light kit, HY6 kit and he had the front attachamatic kit there too.
Sparky-(Admin) 23,139 #2 Posted October 21, 2009 Looks like a nice original straight tractor Steve ! Very nice. Mike.......

clintonnut 126 #4 Posted October 21, 2009 I am truly envious. I have been looking for a straight all original 10-12hp auto 1965-1967 wheel horse for almost a year. You wouldn't be interested in selling just the tractor would you? Charlie
Sarge 3,465 #5 Posted October 21, 2009 The 1076 model is a 6-speed, first year I think too... Look for any model 65-67 that the third digit is 7 (auto). Basically, you're hunting a 1077,1277 ect... Sarge
Brrly1 1,146 #6 Posted October 21, 2009 Sarge, you are wrong on that one! 1076 is a hydro from the year 1966. It went something like this 875,1075, were auto's as were the 876, 1076,1276. The 855,1055 were manual trans as were the 856,1056,1256 ect. Last number meaning year, first number or numbers meaning horsepower. 5 meaning manual and 7 meaning hydro. Not exactly sure on this but I am sure someone can step in and correct me. See Ya, Bye Burly :scratchead:
stevasaurus 23,274 #7 Posted October 21, 2009 nice haul Steve...like the aireator. burly...I have an 857...thought the 5 meant electric start? :hide:
wheel horse 1045 2 #8 Posted October 21, 2009 i have a 1076 also and they are automatics and would be interested in the light if you want to get rid of it
wheel horse 1045 2 #9 Posted October 21, 2009 i didnt come with seat springs on it unless you prefer them
Brrly1 1,146 #10 Posted October 21, 2009 Steve, to be truthfully honest, I am not really sure how it goes. I figured somebody would come in and correct me. This is a 1076 and it has electric start also. I know there are several people out there who know the breakdown, I have heard it many times it just hasn't stuck with me. Too Many Moving Parts, I guess. I like the hydros so I don't really worry too much about it. See Ya, Bye Burly :scratchead:
Kelly 1,033 #11 Posted October 21, 2009 Ok I'll try to make this short First year of the hydro 1965, 875 and 1075 they put the 7 in the place of the 5 as all hydro's were elect. start. first year for the 6 speed 1967, 867 and 1067 they put the 6 in the place of the 5 for elect. start, as all 6 speeds were elect. start. list of hydro's (going from memory) 875, 1075, 876, 1076, 877, 1077, 1277, then in 68 they called them chargers the 6 speeds in 68 became raider's
Kelly 1,033 #12 Posted October 21, 2009 By the way nice looking machine Steve, that is even the new style tiller
refracman 167 #13 Posted October 22, 2009 Thanks Guys. It seems like I've been lucky lately in finding tractors There be some sharp eyes around. Besides the seat, he also replaced the lift valve and was going to upgrade to the new style attachamatic( post 73). And the tiller is a 76 model, I dont think it has much use by the looks of the tines :hide:
Sarge 3,465 #14 Posted October 22, 2009 My bad, looking at the pic I'd swear there was a gearshift . Good point on the list, think all of them are covered there... Favorites are those long, narrow hoods. Just something about them. Sarge
stevasaurus 23,274 #15 Posted October 22, 2009 brrly...wasn't trying to correct you...just trying to learn more...and Kelly just showed me how much I still have to learn.
