tarcoleo 119 #1 Posted October 18, 2009 On my C-111, the TAM unit is located about 2 inches toward the back of the machine compared with its location on my C-81. Is this kosher or has one or the other been tampered with? Where should the TAM be along the chassis, measured from where? Tom in RI
Don1977 605 #2 Posted October 19, 2009 I don't know but my C-120 is located 12" from the front to the center of the attachment slot. I know it came that way, I bought it new. Hope this helps.
whfan74 2,071 #3 Posted October 19, 2009 Tom, If it isn't too much trouble throw up a pic for everyone else to see. That would give you some quick feedback. Looking forward to help!
tarcoleo 119 #4 Posted October 19, 2009 The distance from the center of the TAM slot to the front end of the chassis is 13-1/4" in the C-111 and 11-1/4" in the C-81. The front end of the chassis is where the cross-piece is attached directly to the chassis rails and includes the 1/4" thickness of that cross-piece. The measurement is not measured diagonally but along a level line between vertical lines aligned with the slot and the end of the chassis. I'll be interested to know what other C-series measurements are. Thanks in advance, Tom in RI :scratchead:
Kelly 1,033 #5 Posted October 19, 2009 Did someone bolt it on backwards? that would be about 2"
tarcoleo 119 #6 Posted October 19, 2009 Kelly- They're both looking in the same direction. (Murphy wasn't here.) Tom in RI :scratchead:
tarcoleo 119 #7 Posted October 20, 2009 Further investigation has solved the mystery. On the C-111 in its previous life, the TAM on the chassis was moved rearward. Close inspection shows the imprint of the device having been mounted 2 in. forward of its present location. Sorry fellahs, you don't need to go out into the cold barn to make measurements for me.
