wallfish 18,072 #1 Posted October 17, 2009 It took a few days or so but the deal finally went down. This will be the new snow shooter for this year. It should be able to throw it on the neighbors roof. Pics aren't so good since it is still inside the van. The deal included a heavily repaired 48" SD deck but all recently replaced spindles. Sparky-(Admin) 23,138 #7 Posted October 18, 2009 That motor will have no problem spinnin up a snow-chucker John. I ran a 418 with a 42" short chute a couple years back and it was a power house. Mike.........
HorseFixer 2,013 #8 Posted October 18, 2009 Yep nice machine John! I was looking at one of those last week but the guy wanted too much for it for the condition it was in! No matter I have some stuff in the works! :hide:
wallfish 18,072 #9 Posted October 18, 2009 This guy thought he was sitting on a gold mine too but after a couple of weeks with no takers, he pulled his head out and gave me a call. Stevebo -- I have a couple plows(not a 48 though) but I could use a cab if you know of one close by. My wife blew her stack again !!!!!! Man, is she hot over this one for some reason. I should just make her shovel and maybe then she'll learn to appreciate my tractors.

Suburban 550 28 #12 Posted October 18, 2009 John, I think at one time or another, we had our wifes complain about our tractor buying. But now after seeing a foot or two of snow on the ground and she don't have to pick up a shovel she knows why we need our tractors. bustedglass 1 #13 Posted October 18, 2009 Hey Ray, Interesting looking snow cab on your machine. Do you have some closeups you can share?
wallfish 18,072 #14 Posted October 18, 2009 That's a nice cab with a full view. Did you build that or is that a manufactured unit?
Suburban 550 28 #15 Posted October 18, 2009 Mike, don't have any closeups but I can get you a few in a couple days. The cab is constructed of angle iron and 1/4 inch plexiglass. No holes were ever drilled in the tractor. The rear of the cab is u-bolted to the rear end and the front of the cab is mounted to the tractor by pipes slid over the frame where the foot rests are mounted. The cab features a opening front windshield, electric windshield wiper, roof lights and a hinged side entry door. All the material was donated to me by a friend who got it from where he worked.
