Confused99 2 #1 Posted October 17, 2009 I have been looking for a long time for a blower that is 1-still for sale and 2-not over priced. I really lucked out and found this one and it even sat on craigslist for almost a month. It is new/never been used but unfortunatly when it was still in the box, it was sat out side so the wet cardboard created some rust on a few things. It was also missing the main chute turn rod (the one you grab and crank) but does have everything else for the chute direction. It was also missing a few bolts but other then that it's complete. Total cost was 2 Toro Groundmaster weights and $100 cash. I was more than happy with the deal. Now we just need some snow Model - 79360

Rogue 0 #6 Posted October 18, 2009 Nice find. I picked one of the tall chutes up about a month ago. I don't even want to say what I paid after seeing what you payed. All I can say is, I hope we get slammed with snow. I want to try this puppy out. Congrats and nice find :scratchead:
Confused99 2 #7 Posted October 19, 2009 Well I got the missing hardware this morning and mounted it up just to try it. Seemed to work well but was very very noisy. Seemed like most of the noise was coming from the chain area. Is this normal? I did hit the grease zerks and oiled the chain. Thanks for the input. Jason They chain will never be silent. if there was some corrosion from storage it may quiet down after it has been run in. I would suggest stopping by the autoparts store and picking up an aerosol can of chain lube. Also have you looked at the chain tension. You do not want it to be tight like a belt nor flopping around loose.
Confused99 2 #13 Posted October 22, 2009 Thanks for the reply, it doesn't appear to have corrosion on the chain and it appears to be tight but not too tight. I will put some more lube on it when I mount it up for the season to see if it is still noisy. I am looking forward to some snow.....but only after I get the leaves picked up Jason
Operator 7 #14 Posted October 23, 2009 NO SNOW YET!!! Jason. Way to early for the stuff. Yup it will fit the 520's Is the chain flexable? Maybe a bit stiff from sitting with moisture. I use chain lube and just let it idle a while, mine is pretty quite. Randy

Randy Not yet, my front yard is 90% covered in leaves right now and my backyard is only 25% but the 4 maple trees are going to be dropping any day.
