2manytoys 0 #1 Posted October 17, 2009 Hello all, My first post here on this cool site. I bought a used snow blade that is supposedly compatible with a 520H. I'm not sure what model # it is, but I found a manual on-line for the Classic Garden Tractor blade that looks like the one. Based on those installation instructions, it appears I'm missing the lift link. It looks like nothing more than a flat bar with 2 holes for clevis pins. I'll make one, but instead of guessing at the length, it would be great if I knew what the spacing of the holes should be. With the blade mounted, should the attachment lift be lowered completely before measuring? Or will that result in too much up travel? I also saw reference to an extended lift link for down pressure. Can you really scrape with one of these? Any advice on determining the best length would be appreciated.
KyBlue 655 #2 Posted October 17, 2009 Ill measure mine, I dug around in my scrap pile and used a piece of a Muffler Hanger.. Its got evenly spaced holes and is made from pretty heavy steel... couple bucks at a local parts store, If'n ya dont wanna go thru the trouble of drilling your own holes (or are like me, lazy er Frugal) I think its something like 7" but... don't hold me to that, I had to have one of the RS members like TT or one of them measure it for me, when I made mine.. 2manytoys 0 #5 Posted October 18, 2009 Thanks for the link on the C141 blade Don. I found a 520H manual online but it didn't show any of that detail on the belllcrank/lift usage. I'm anxious to see how that compares to the 520H. I use the tractor at my property which is 20 miles from my house and workshop. I don't get out there often so I'd like to keep the guess and try to a minimum. And any help on the length would be appreciated 4Star.
