pfrederi 18,638 #2 Posted October 17, 2009 Nice Tractor especially with hydro unit> Makes you wonder why someone would go to the work of a nice paint job in an odd color like that. (Did you buy it to match the green tractor in the background??? :scratchead:
TT-(Moderator) 1,162 #3 Posted October 17, 2009 Ummmm.... it's nice, but it's not a 702. :scratchead:
TJ 184 #4 Posted October 17, 2009 Nice tractor. Love the hydrolics. :scratchead:
bitten 134 #5 Posted October 17, 2009 TT It use to be, I read the ebay add and this one has quit the story. Dont remember exact details but I think the frame went bad and the guy put a newer fram and steering on it. I think there was several peices from other tractors on it. Im sure sodbuster has all the details. Even with that color it still looks nice. P.J.
TT-(Moderator) 1,162 #6 Posted October 17, 2009 I apologize for "saying bad stuff" about other people's tractors. You guys go right ahead with your posts. :scratchead:
Indy w h 5 #7 Posted October 17, 2009 Should b a 752 not 702 because of the starter/ gen it's still a good looking horse. Love those front tires Indy

Suburban 550 28 #12 Posted October 17, 2009 Nice tractor Sodbuster. Even if it's green it's still a Wheel Horse. I seen it on e-bay and it has quite a history to it. It started out as a 702 and was modified a bit along the way. Still a great lookin' tractor and wish you alot of luck with it. :scratchead:
Rogue 0 #13 Posted October 18, 2009 I think it looks nice the way it looks. Unless you absolutely hate the color I would leave it. Seems to be a good paint job but pictures can be deceiving. Congrats :scratchead:
Greg Parnell 6 #14 Posted October 18, 2009 Good looking tractor!!
Gene_S 93 #15 Posted October 18, 2009 Hey Sodbuster, I e-mailed the guy about that tractor just because it looked interesting even the dark green paint did to. He e-mailed me back with even more info on the tractors life. I think the wide front end makes it look cool. If I were you, I'd cut the bracket off the frame on the front where the square hood use to pivot and then it would look more like it should, even with the wider front axle. Indy W H, In 1962 they made a "702" and it had S/G. Why they called it "702" who knows?! Have fun with the new beast Sod! Gene
linen beige 15 #16 Posted October 18, 2009 Indy W H, In 1962 they made a "702" and it had S/G. Why they called it "702" who knows?! Could it be that in 1960-1962 the "0" meant Kohler engine (along with a few Clintons) and the "5" meant Lauson? :scratchead:
stevasaurus 23,274 #17 Posted October 18, 2009 Hey Sodbuster...about time you posted pics of the horse...I like the green...looks like a nice job. Maybe the guy painted it that color to match something he had...like a truck. Anyway you have a nice project on your hands...good luck with her.
tgranthamfd 29 #18 Posted October 18, 2009 I read about that one, it is a very interesting read. The po had the entire history for this machine for the day he got it with everything he changed and or added. how far did you have to go to get it? You should post up the history on this unique horse it was a very interesting read. I think it said it was a Rusto hammered metalic green, and it was now on a like workhorse frame, it was also not a hydro lift tractor. But I like it as is, if it would have been closer I would have bidded on it myself. :scratchead:
HorseFixer 2,013 #19 Posted October 18, 2009 Sod Buster nice looking tractor! I like it! Nice Find I would be proud to sit her in my stable ANYTIME :scratchead:
whfan74 2,071 #20 Posted October 18, 2009 Sod.........looks sweet to me. The previous owner surely took pride in it. From the sounds of it from the others you truly have a tractor that has a definite story behind her. Thanks for posting the pics and I wouldn't blame you if you left it that color. :scratchead:
Duff 206 #21 Posted October 18, 2009 Nice looking machine, and I agree with others- please post up the history! Duff :scratchead:
