Dresden Guy 24 #1 Posted October 17, 2009 I need some help. I would like to attach a snowblower to a 1987 211-4 (32-11B401)........... can it be done, and if so, how????? The Toro site says there was not one made for the 200 series. Can some other snowblower be adapted to fit? Would it take a lot of alteration to drive the unit? Do I need more than the 11 hp B&S? Pictures and/or detailed info would be useful. Truthfully, I hope I don't need a snowblower this winter, but the Farmer's Almanac says differently. So I call on the REDSQAURE guys (or gals) for help!! THANKS! The Dresden Guy
MikesRJ 558 #2 Posted October 17, 2009 I can't tell you for sure if one can be adapted, but if you're handy with metal fabrication and a welder I'm sure you can come up with something functional. As for the suggested 10-12HP models I would suggest you stick with a snow blower less than 37" width. All 10HP models suggested the 37" and 32" snow blowers with wheel weights, chains, and sand cask weight. Most of the WH snow blowers were shipped in two packages. The first package was the basic snow blower, and the second package was the "Finishing Kit". The finishing kits were the parts which completed the snow blower, and also contained specific parts to attach the snow blower to a specific machine type. These are the parts you'll probably need to cobble together to get it to work on your machine. Since I don;t know the 200's all that well, perhaps some of the other members can chime in at this point.
wh500special 2,262 #3 Posted October 20, 2009 Dresden Guy, There was a 36" snowthrower available for the 200 series like yours. I think the model number might be 06-36SL01 (or awefully close to that). 11 HP is plenty. I have one of the throwers to fit a 200 series, but it is located in Alton, IL. I won't ship it and wasn't planning to ever sell it. But for the right offer.... Steve
