Identifing the model# of 416-8

Got this 416-8 with a Kohler I am working to make a reliable tractor again. I'd like to identify the exact model, and it does not have a label on the fender anymore. Are there any specific details I can look for that are unique enough to tell me the year and model of this 416-8?. The engine label is there, but faded badly enough to no longer be legible.

I've narrowed it down to 31-16K801, 31-16K802, 31-16K803, or 31-16K804.

Narrow down now to 31-16K803, or 31-16K804, 1987 or 1988 because it is the Kohler Magnum.

If you can read the first 2 digits of the 10-digit Kohler serial number that may narrow it down.

Engine made in 1986 could land on a 1987 tractor.

Engine made in 1987 could land on a 1987 or 1988 tractor.

Engine made in 1988 would land on a 1988 tractor.

Most Wheel Horse parts are interchangeable so if you can't find the exact year there isn't too much to worry about. A 416-8 is a great tractor.   :handgestures-thumbupright:

I think I have my answer now. It's got the older steering wheel, and from what I am reading from others that makes it a 1987 31-16K803
