The vari speed pulley is supposed to have a groove with a 3/4" snap ring. The belt sizes are 1/2"x20 and 1/2"x37. I would paint the front wheels silver because it is an early model. That extra hole is to mount the belt guard. What was the big washer over the vari pulley when you got it?

Could you post some pics of the vari pulley off the shift bracket so we can help you out?

Charlie,

What you see in the pics is all that come with it. The double pulley moves inside of itself to adjust the belt diameter. Are you saying that I am missing another pulley? How about the reverse disk? The big washer was on there just holding in the pulley. The end of the shaft was tapped and treaded. Not sure if that is orginal or after the fact?

Here is variable pulley. That is a snap ring and a grease fitting in the end of the shaft. Thats grease all over iR1-6.jpgt

Steve, where you think there should be a pulley is where the belt guard bolts to

Wondering when you take that pulley apart if you could send me a pic or two. I need to know what the inside looks like. I believe that it has 2 bearings with a grease fitting or just one bearing and 1 fitting. An expanded view would be awesome !! :scratchead:

Well things are coming along slowly as I have been waiting on parts (the right ones to come in) Here are a few pics of the progress on the 55. Rear end just about back together. Next step is to buttom it up and put the hubs back on. All the new bearings are in ... Had a minor set back on the shifter lever.... thanks to fireman for bending and adding threads to install the new one. Another friend did the welds... I guess all I really did was break it !! Tires are coming this weekend (Vince)...

Moving along on the 55. Thanks to Vins RJ I now have a set of original AGS and he was good enough to give them to me and meet me to pick up /drop off. A little Miller's tire paint and they look great -Thanks Again Vince !! (Waiting for pics of your new ride..)

I posted some pics of the brake band with new lining and new spreading rivots. Front tires should, rear hitch, gas tank and engine pulley/reverse gear on the way for delivery next week. Had the motor running today and it sounds very good. Can't wait to get this thing done. I will be tkaing the most time getting the hood straight and true. 9 drill holes to fill !!
