Correct colors for my 1955 Rj35?

Recommended Posts

Hello all-

Moving along on the restoration of my 55 rj. I know the front wheels need to be silver but does anyone have a color code or a picture of them? Also, I alrady painted and cleared the seat red but that is easy to change if need be. What color should the seat be? Thanks- Steve Bo

I promise I will get pics out once I figure out how to work the photobucket thing. Maybe someone can show me at the meet and greet next month. :scratchead:

Everything is sandblasted, sprayed with rust converter right after, primed and frame pitting filled and primed. I sprayed the wheels using rusto gloss black then clear coated using duplicolor's ready to spray quarts. I was concerned about a chemical reaction however they were fine. I used restoration series ih red on the misc. parts including seat, front end, hubs etc then cleared them as well (incliding the motor tins.

I decided to re use the original rear ags even though they have some dry cracks, i paingted them with the miller paint and other than the cracks they look very good. i will keep looking for a better set of original ags and upgrade at a later date. I will be buying another set of front 3 ribs.

overall i am very impressed with the paint. i have been looking for a clear that is not too expensive and will work with both valspar and rusto. $23 per quart vs $90 per quart at the local auto paint store. i just cannot see spending more on paint than the rest of the tractor.

i really like how this is turning out. :scratchead:

Steve I have an original set of BFG ags which are really nice. No dry rot or cracks. A good cleaning and tire shine is all they need, give me a call if you want them. I want them out of my shed.
