slk 36 #1 Posted October 4 Is it just me or is the seat really close to the dash/steering wheel of the tractor. I feel so cramped in that small space. I have not looked all that close yet but I do not see where I could move it back about 6” or so.
ebinmaine 80,745 #2 Posted October 4 Got pics? I'm a "not small" person. My seats are all set back 2 inches from the OE stock furthest rear point. 2

I have not looked all that close yet but I do not see where I could move it back about 6” or so. I have added seat slides to the two tractors I maintain that have users with both compact and elongated statures. The slides have 6” of travel that I positioned to 3 in each direction from stock. Do be careful not to position the operator’s weight too far to the rear--the stock position is pretty much directly over the rear axle.

You can elongate the slots where I circled to get the springs mounted farther back. They also make springs with slots built into them. I have seen them on E bay quite often.

slk 36 #10 Posted 3 hours ago Well guys I was able to drill out the spring steel but I could only go back about 2”. Got it all back together and it is a little better. Still feels very cramped. I am still over the rear axel though. If I can find a new seat that might help as well. I can’t really put my hand on mine to get in as the pan is cracked. So I am having to thread my leg through all the gear selectors to get in and not much fun doing that at my age.

One of the reasons I like my round hood is that I sit on the seat and then swing a leg over the steering wheel (having lowered the lift arm, of course). At some point, if the mount/dismount becomes undoable, you might have to consider a zero-turn.
