FLtractor 215 #1 Posted yesterday at 12:58 AM (edited) Evening, Wondering if anyone has added one of these to 856 or similar wheelhorse without significant modifications.. or perhaps a curved bumper similar to ford N series with ball on front. ri702bill 12,967 #2 Posted yesterday at 10:02 AM It looks like any of them will interfere with removal of the hood....
953 nut 69,070 #3 Posted yesterday at 12:55 PM None of them are suitable for a wheel horse, they are too wide and as bill already mentioned they would get in the way of opening the hood unless you mounted them a couple feet out front. You need to get off Facebook and get out there in the shop workin' on whatcha already got. 1

rmaynard 17,572 #6 Posted 9 hours ago Are you planning to enter a demolition derby? If Wheel Horse didn't offer a bumper as an option, you don't need it.
squonk 48,049 #7 Posted 8 hours ago This reminds me of when my wife bought a brand new tiller from Troy Built back when it was still Troy Built. They offered a free bumper! I'm thinking what good is a bumper on a tiller? Well my wife ran the tiller into the garage wall. The bumper bent and saved the recoil! 3

Actually, the number of banged up, bent, mangled hoods I've seen in person or on this site would indicate a strong need for bumpers for many / most tractors and their operators... I have only found one situation where a bumper would have been nice, but probably not too helpful. When I was about 12 or 13 I rear-ended my dad's truck while we towed the 310 out of the mud, but that was more of a statement on the difference in the quality of the brakes between the two vehicles. On the 8XX tractors the front tires stick out past the front of the hood far enough to do the job well, unless you run into something with the point of the hood.
