Lubriplate

I have a gallon of Lubriplate FMO 500.

Am wondering if it would be good to use on the underside of the mowing deck.

@CRF857  been doing hot sun /  lubrication  for years , number  one thing is totally  cleaning  out  any  debris , trapped ,  grass , personally  use a 2 stage soak in , like a chain and cable  spray , macs , napa, totally  soak down and heat bake , for  hours , set up mine for  best all day , sun angle , move as needed , then  over spray , with the heavier open gear oil , you can easily experiment , I also  winter store my decks like this , so  that  lubrication , becomes imbedded into the metal , was just checking the specs on your  lube , possible , but  its the lighter  initial hot soak in  , that  sets  the foundation  , of  rust free, pete

I used some brush on truck bed liner several years ago (probably 8 or 9) and it has held up well.

This has not really answered @CRF857’s question. I’d also like to know the answer to this because I have some of that same stuff that someone gave me. I never really knew what to do with it? Maybe I’ll use it on my decks?

Can't hurt... expired in 2017, so either use it for bicycles chain oil or put it on the deck and see what happens...

I used Lubriplate for years to coat and waterproof carbon steel hydro turbine parts.  It sticks and holds up well     My main use now is to lube and waterproof bolt threads.

I used ez slide a few years ago, held up to half a dozen mowings then needed redone. Just did not have the time to fool with cleaning and pressure washing decks that often.

I tried a lot of different treatments none worked well enough make it through a whole season. POR15 was the winner.

A lot depends on your grass/soil and of course how many acres you cut and what deck your are using. I cut with a Kubota and it has a high lift deck and it is pretty violent as compared to a WH rear discharge.

You can give it a try but you might have trouble if you decide to paint the deck in the future.

@CRF857 been rustproofing  for years , LEARING AND APPLYING AS I GO , BASE LINE ? lighter , creeping  penetrant , serves 2 purposes , ability  to get to many UNTOUCHED AREAS , THAT ALSO ACTS AS A CARRIER  FOR , LATER  APPLICATION . for me its chain and cable lubricant  first , any  related seaming will show you its trail , let  sit  / soak  for days , then over spray with  a  open gear type lubricant , heavier sealer type , add  hot  sun , prop up  to that , the longer the better  , you know what's  GLAIRING ? same basic idea for  , PAINT RECOVERY , been doing this for  DECADES , this is easy , dare to  try , pete

I think that it would hold up very well for about .0025 milliseconds, just like any other oil.

 

It is 30 weight oil that I would use for chain lube in a chainsaw.
