Clevis hitch 8-5515

I recently installed the hitch assembly on a C161 auto.  One of the issues I have is length of travel or lift motion. I am using a short clevis up front and chain in the rear on a slot hitch.

Do I need to screw in the trunion on the cable? Currently the cable is at the end of the trunion and I can't really use less chain links.

The bell crank (#19) has 3 holes for the trunion. The farther holes provide for more travel. I guess that sounds obvious but what hole is the trunion in? Screwing the trunion in (shortening the cable) doesn't change the distance of travel, it changes the starting and ending points.

           Unless the hitch is bottoming out and preventing full travel.

True. Pictures of the bell crank and chain to hitch would help us understand your issue better.

The clevis is in the bottom hole but there is a trunion in the rear can be adjusted.

If the cable goes slack when the hitch is lowered, the cable needs to be shortened until it has tension thru the complete range of lift.

I am not using a clevis hitch but using a slot hitch. I could add a hole to it like mentioned in the bulletin however I was thinking about adjusting the rear trunion.
