Help with my grandfather’s RJ-58

Hi!

I'm looking to see if i can get some help with my grandfather’s RJ-58 Serial # 21259. The tractor has a Kohler K91 engine on it. I know this tractor has the original plow as well. I’m just looking to see what I can do to make the tractor last and keep it in good condition. I don’t know much about it.

Your grandfather has given you a really nice looking RJ. Don't be afraid to drive the Wheel Horse around and work it if you have any implements for it, that is what they were built to do.   To ensure its longevity just maintain the engine oil level and keep the steering lubricated.

Was your grandfather a Red Square member?

  to Red Square.  If you perform normal maintenance on it like the above mentioned that will make it last.

953 Nut,

my dad said my grandfather used to restore the wheel horses at one point and sell them. We have a 312-8 and a 414-12 with a slow low. My dad got the ‘58 and the my uncle got the ‘61, which he has that as well. Both were born those respected years. I saw it was leaking gas either at the fuel filter by the gas bowl and also at the carb. Any guidance? I did run it, sounds good!

Most likely sediment bowl is leaking. Wipe any gas away and use a bright flash light to try and pinpoint the leak. Once you find it we'll suggest repair/eplace as required and replace the fuel line.

Look at the date code near the shifter boot on the transmission and post it. Something like C9-9 or C10-9
