May get one once a seat is back on and the tire swap. I have the same style seat I took off my 875 I can put on. A few tape patches but it matches the patina better.

I bought this from @Retired Wrencher Gary. Overall decent shape but the engine was incorrectly rebuilt.

Not sure if I will have my favorite local small engine shop fix this one, or just swap another one in.

 

Definitely looking forward to having this machine as a part of my working Herd.

 

 

 

 

 

Eric I hope some day that it will be a fine worker. Did you ever find out what was wrong with the engine? Other than that it is a good tractor.

One of the valves is loose in the engine. The keepers were sitting right below it.

Also, the cylinder bore looks extremely rough.

 

I have several other options for engines on that tractor.

 

A couple different Kohler 8 HP engines. 

 

And yesterday evening I was thinking about the possibilities of installing a Briggs & Stratton 8 HP that was originally on my grandfather's snowblower and now sits on one of Trina's tractors. That will be coming off, because she has the correct engine for that one now.

Well it's crusty, dusty and poopy. Shot tires but I have spares in the parts dept. Can't believe the seat is nice! Gonna get that off and hit the tractor with Dawn Power Wash and let it get rained on. Got to de- mouse the engine before going inside. Center spindle on deck needs work but the shell looks solid!

 

 

Sweet find! The model that I have been looking for. Cut my Wheel Horse teeth on a brand new B-80/8-Speed as an 11 year old.

You can drive to NY and buy it CHEEP! I have to get a switch, fuel tank grommet,  change the fluids, and look into the drive belt rattle. It will have a different seat.
